Weather and Altitude

Durango is located at 6,522 feet above sea level. We find the best way to enjoy the high altitude is to remain hydrated by drinking plenty of water.

Our high altitude climate tends to fluctuate significantly day-to-day, so be sure to bring appropriate clothing with you. No matter when you are visiting, it is a good idea to bring plenty of warm layers and a rain/snow-proof shell and waterproof boots. If you have specific questions about what to bring for your visit, please email us at stay@rochesterhotel.com.
