The Leland House and Rochester Hotel are proud members of the Green Hotels Association. Below are some of the ways we help protect the environment:

• We have switched to purchasing 100% of our electricity from La Plata Electric Cooperative's Green Power Program.
• We provide linen conservation cards; towels and linens are only changed between guests or upon request.
• We utilize a comprehensive recycling program.
• Cruiser bicycles are provided for guest and employee use.
• We have switched to electronic correspondence to reduce paper waste.
• Energy-efficient light bulbs are used in order to save energy.
• Low-flow water devices are installed in our plumbing system.
• We use Energy Star washing machines to save water and use less energy.
• Shower amenity dispensers are installed in the showers to reduce plastic bottle waste.
• We use natural, non-toxic cleaning products.
• We provide natural amenities including Aveda products.
• We serve organic, fair-trade coffee and tea.
